About Me
May 15, 2009
Eric graduated from the royal and pontifical University of Santo Tomas. After college he had wandered off to where he thinks his career suits best. He worked as Sponsorship and Promotions Executive for Cartoon Network and a Researcher for ABS-CBN show Rated-K. But none of the two gave him the satisfaction that he thinks would confer him once he entered the two highly-coveted corporate worlds.

Soon will he finds out that the one he used to mocked up and tell himself to never involve his life with is now his present obsession. He is currently running his dad's bicycle business and loving every moment since then.

During time off, he likes to travel places, eat at different restos tagging his digital camera along so he won't miss any noteworthy shots. Addition to whats been said, he's also engaged to taking care of his Shih Tzu puppies and spending quality time with the love of his life!

We got out one Monday morning with the whole Barco clan and head to Tagaytay. Its the first time I'll be going out with all of them and I enjoyed every moment. For more than 2 years now, they have become part of my family and I become them too. And my gratitude towards the Barco family is irreplaceable. I love these people to death. First time also in Balinsasayaw located at Silang, Cavite. It has great ambiance unfortunately my DLSR is broken so I just used my phone camera w/c isn't taking any good quality pictures. At least there's something for me to use. haha.

Its really not my usual hobby to post anything personal. As a matter of fact, if its really personal then I just keep it to myself or share to a few trusted friends.

But in times like this when I feel I'm about to explode.. I just had to let it out.. so like whats written in the title, if your not at all interested reading this post.. pls excuse me.. i just need an outlet..

I don't really understand why my parents treat me like this... I'm nothing but a good son following their orders and treating them with respect and honor.. tho I can honestly say I'm no candidate to receive an award for best son of the year naman. I had disappoint them in many ways. But I did what I can do to please them..

Pangungunahan ko na keo, ang mga sasabihin ko ay hindi panunumbat.. minsan din naman nararamdaman natin na bakit ginagawa naman natin lahat lahat pero para kulang padin.. I woke up around 6am to bring my sister to school.. its not an easy thing to do when you usually sleep around 2am trying to finish your research and inventory for your family business. Yes, I also run one of our family businesses.. I run it with full conviction and I have nothing but high hopes na umunlad pa yung business namin.. But my parents would say.. "tinatamad ka na naman..." "puro ka gastos..." "kung ano ano inaatupag mo..."

That hurts me in many ways... una hind ako tinatamad.. how could I? When at 8 in the morning I was there in the office na earlier than our employees.. Then there's puro ako gastos.. whens the last time they bought something for me? When was the last time they spent money for my happiness? I spend my own money.. and Im saving for my future.. even nung college pa, natitipid ko pera ko to buy luxurious things and even save up para s sarili ko.. i know how to handle money.. and kung ano ano inaatupag ko.. e anu pa ba? I missed mga lakad with friends.. 22 na ako yet hindi ako makaalis ng malaya without them repremanding na late na naman ako uuwi... what about ung favorite nilang anak na kapatid ko?? every week out of town? every other day asa Bar?? Ako hang out lang with friends then pagdating ng 11, halos gerahin ako sa text.. while si kevin kahit madaling araw na umuwi, pinapapasok with both wide arms open..

I dont envy my brother.. hndi un ang case dto.. im just upset why ganun sila. sa akin.. Its eating me for more than a year na and ngaun ko lang nalabas.. ansakit.. naiiyak ako habang sinusulat ko toh.. mahal na mahal ko sila yet iba na sila sa akin.. they dont even ask if Im okay.. if kumain na ba ako o anu.. anak nila ako.. lahat tayo naging anak diba.. alam ko naramdaman din nilang mangulila...

I have a friend hu has a family abroad.. i asked him if he misses his family he says no.. ako i do... mas masakit yung nasa isa kayong bahay yet parang ang layo layo nila... I know they cannot read this.. pero sana they know how much I miss them.. How I want to say sorry if theres anything I did wrong.. to say sorry for not being the one you want me to be.. I'm sorry.. I'm sorry... But I will work harder I promise... baka kasi one day.. makita niyo yung worth ko and then you can say how proud you were to have a son like me... sorry mama and papa.. mahal ko po kayo... sana mahal niyo padin ako....

I'm no jologs but I am not embarrass to admit that I watch Wowowee everyday now. Not because I have no other choice but when they removed Willie Revillame in the program, I became a fan once again..

I couldn't stand kasi how boastful Willie is everyday on the show and I can't really accept the fact that he is filthy rich with that kind of attitude. Pero what made me hate him more was when he suddenly blurted out rude and insensitive comments while the late Pres. Cory's cortege appeared on the screen.

Does he own the television to do that? Naisip ko tuloy na kawawa naman ang mga boss nitong si Willie.. E kaya niya pala patigilin ang lahat.. pati management kinakalaban niya..

Please see the video to see the awful incident:

Now be the judge if this action is appropriate. Click on the link to sign petition to OUST Wowowee host Willie Revillame and let us help stop this kind of actions from happening. Uulitin ko lang na I'm not against the show. I will continue to watch this until the company finds it necessary to remove it. Thanks for your time reading this. Mabuhay ang Pilipino!

After the dance class we had at Brewing Point (class led by Prince of the Phil. All Stars), we went to The Old Spaghetti House at Katipunan to have our lunch. Food was pretty okay. Ren didn't like his food. I don't know if Xave's 2nd choice of meal delete his bad memories from his first taste of the resto. Jaki finish his meal first, while Elaine just ate half of hers. I like mine the best. Porkchop and rice!!! hehe... hindi ko na pala nakuha mga title ng inorder nila (teka.. title??...) kasi gutom na gutom na ako...

I thought of entitling this post "When the dogs are away..." but Lunch at Max's is a more simpler and subtle name so I go with it.

Anyway, the next day after we had dinner at Madison, we brought the pups to Tiendesitas for their bi-weekly grooming sessions. And fortunately have time for ourselves to munch without something who would bark at us and beg for food. In times like this we usually go to Max's.

Bata pa lang ako I've been brought to Max's almost every week. And since then I have not broken the cycle. Every week nakakakain padin ako sa Maxs and it never fails to fill my hunger tsaka the Maxs here at Tiendesitas has this enticing ambiance na parang at home ka lang lage..

Their tagline true enough, sarap to the bone talaga. Ubos to the bone ang chicken every time I eat it. Plus they have bakery pa for take outs so you could bring home their tasty merengue or pastillas.. Damn.. it makes me wanna go there now...

After a tiring day at the office.. Aug 7, 2009 - a very special date - we decided to head Makati to have great dinner. We search the place for awesome eat-place and found Madison just stationed on the right side of Greenbelt 5 beside Cheateu (don't know how to spell it correctly sorry).

Madison doesn't have much customers at that moment so we try as much to enjoy the place. But to our dismay, the steak we ordered ruined it. I've been craving for a good steak week long and I couldn't accept the fact that I paid almost a thousand bucks for a burnt steak. Same with their chicken, 20 minutes of preparing the chicken, no wonder it got burnt.

But enough of the bad side. The truth of the matter is, the place looks neatly constructed naman. The white paint gives justice to their awesome plant arrangement on the ceiling and the big-rounded-medieval lighting really caught my attention as soon as I enter the place. But here's the best part:

Roasted garlic basil and cheese pizza - P254.46

and...

Peach mojitos - P125.00

But I let you decide whether you enjoyed the place or not. Just a little warning thou, Ren ordered the Madison Rootbeer and almost vomit after. It was concocted with diff liquor so it isn't your ordinary drink. We got slightly drunk afterwards. We kinda enjoy the experience pala hehe...

Its a rainy Saturday morning when Ren and I decided to go to Tagaytay and eat places to quench our hunger for good food. You know naman here in Manila na sa dami ng tao, nasa-sacrifice minsan ang service. And so we visit 3 places in which we haven't been to before.

First one we try is The Boutique / Hawaiin BBQ. Its sort of a hotel like place with interiors that I pretty much appreciate. The place is awesome especially that they have good lounge area outside. Unfortunately though, we can't stay out coz of the rain. Food is exquisite. We ordered Foil-Baked Golden Shrimp and the Sun-ripened Mango Chicken BBQ. I don't know if we're just starving from the long drive pero super sarap ng food man!! This place is also nice for honeymoon or labing-labing coz they have rooms also. Please see their packages. It comes with a free massage and chocolates! DAMN! Wanna try that someday. For more information: log on to their website http://www.theboutiquebnb.com/

We're searching for good coffee coz its so cold and so we drove to Bag of Beans. I have been to this place before but Renan hasn't so its nice to show him around. Its a cool place cause it have this secluded garden feel where you feel comfortably at peace with nature. Or something to that effect. But I must say, they have bad service! I was asking the waiter what he could suggest coz I don't really drink coffee but want something hot to drink, and guess what, he just stared at me with this weird look and a fugly smirk! I want to get out but I still want something hot to drink so we stayed and ordered panna cotta too! Food's not bad but their service is. The guard didn't even open the door for their customers! Where are the managers? For inquiries: http://bagofbeanstagaytay.com/

Night is about to fall so we just need to buy something to eat on our way home. Fortunately we saw this new fast-food chain beside Yellow Cab named Army Navy. We got enticed and so we ordered burger. Service is good. They're friendly. Plus the place is nice so its good to spend time here with friends or loved ones.

As we're about to make our way home to Tagaytay, I feared that we might not make it coz of the hard fall of rain. I swear I couldn't see a thing as I drive. I drove slowly and patiently coz I don't want to kill anyone! But I survived! Such a cool thing to end a wonderful and unforgettable day.

Not really planning on buying any new stuff especially shoes pero when the big red SALE sign is in front of you, you kinda surrender on its calling and boom! you're spending in an instant.

Went inside Traffic cause I saw that they offer big discount on their shoe items.

And they're right. I got new Kartel shoes at 50% off.

But now I'm thinking what should I pair this shoes with? Mukhang mapapagastos pa ata ako ah. SHET!

Aside from singing, we took opportunity of the great wall design Chicago have inside their karaoke rooms. Its red and its cool. They also have laser projector so you'll feel ultra-outerspacey. If ever that makes sense. HAHA

July 18, 2009 - The gang went out to celebrate Oneal's, well he says 21, so okay.. we got out to celebrate his 21st *ehem! birthday.

All of us met at Metrowalk and we took dinner at Jay's Inasal. I got so full from stuffing food down my stomach but refused to use the bathroom cause apparently the smell is intolerable and napkins with blood lying around. After dinner, we went to Love2Laugh where we laugh our hearts out. The place isn't that big like Klownz or Punchline but the laughters that pretty much fills the whole area defeated the roaring crowd of the big Dome! Veveika, the main comedienne every Saturday crack the hell out of me. I feel so at home suddenly. And who would forget the "LADY IN RED"? - the most irritable, social climber, whoretastic, loud girl that have ever existed the planet. She ruin the moment for everyone. But still, I had fun.

After hours of jokes and punchlines, we head on to Chicago near the vicinity and its time for karaoke. We sang till dawn. And though we're pretty beat up, smiles were all over our faces. Probably one of the best birthdays I've been to. Looking forward to the next celebrant. It should be better than this so you better bring it! HEHE

I was at home when Ren drop by and gave me this wonderful surprise -- a ticket to Enchanted Kingdom! My mind exploded with excitement.

Days passed when I used to think about me riding the Space Shuttle or the Anchor's Away once again and for God knows what reason, Ren suddenly thinks of buying us tickets.

I had so much fun! Especially that there weren't many people around. We really enjoyed the place better this time. We also tried the Race Trak for the first time and it was okay. I had a hard time controlling the ride. I ended up tired and sweaty. The weather was cloudy but its so humid that I finished 3 iced teas within an hour. Though we really want to see the fireworks display, we're pretty much beat up cause we got there really early.

Ren, thanks for this. I will never forget. I enjoyed every moment of it. Babawi nalang ako next time.

SHOOT HISTORY:
Come this weekend where both my brother and I had nothing to do and sniffing on the matter that our photography skills are getting rusty, we decided to do a photoshoot. Since we have no lighting equipments, Chris Banez generously provide the essentials and another person whom I like to offer a warm gratitude to is our Tita Arlene who offered her home for the shoot and for styling up our model.

Speaking of model, it wouldn't be possible without my cousin Nikki approving to be the subject for the shoot. Again, maraming maraming salamat po!

Set | Location : Tita Arlene and Tito Jun's haus at Coromina Street
Styling | Make-up by : Arlene P. King
Shoot Supervision by : Kevin Jayson F. King
Model : Nikki
Wardrobe : Stylist's own
Creative Direction | Photography by : Eric John King

Last May 22, Jacky, Toby, Ren and myself all met at SM Megamall around 7pm. We trek the road to Rizal and it was about 9PM when we got there. We saw the other three Xave, Jeff and Jim waiting for us at the resort cause they went to the place earlier. 2 hours later, JP arrived and after an hour, Clark and Oneal made an entrance.

It was really overwhelming that all of us get to come since all we're busy with work and stuffs. I had the best times with these people. The laughter were unstoppable! I hope even without occasion we could get to do this sometime. Thanks guys. You are one of the reasons why I feel so damn lucky!
